Hi I'm Zina

I grew up in rural Canada, British Columbia. I taught English to children in Ukraine for 5 months. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently, I am a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho. Very soon, I will serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Canada Halifax Mission. Christmas is my favourite holiday. There is so much joy at Christmas because everyone is putting great effort into showing their love for others. I love being with my family and doing activities together such as hiking, board/card games, snowmobiling, fishing, camping, kayaking, singing together, four-wheeling, and prospecting . I also love playing the piano, reading, and being outside gardening and training my dog.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Saviour and I want to become more like my Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother. I have gained a testimony for myself of Jesus Christ and of His love for me. I know that He lived on earth, that He died for each of us, and that He rose again as a resurrected being of glory who achieved power over death and the grace to forgive the repentant sinner. I feel that as I exercise my faith in Jesus Christ and live His teachings that are available through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I am living up to my divine potential as a daughter of God.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the gospel while living in a literal wilderness. I was 7 hrs away from the closest Latter-day Saint chapel. Every Sunday, my family would have a church meeting in our home. We are the only members in that area of British Columba. Living there made me strong in my testimony of Jesus Christ because I had to continually stand up for it. I couldn't lean as heavily on the testimonies of others. Since then, I am now a student at BYU-Idaho and have the incredible gift of living within a 5 minute walking distance of the temple in Rexburg. I have made it a goal to go to the temple every week.
