Hi I'm Steve Lealos

I was born in Minnesota and raised in Alaska and now live in Montana and I am a Mormon

About Me

I was born in Minnesota and moved with my Aunt & Uncle to Alaska when I was about nine years old. We homesteaded on the Kenai Peninsula in Soldotna and I stayed there until moving back to Minnesota and joining the Navy when I was seventeen. I spent one tour in Vietnam and one in Guam while in the SeaBees division of the Navy. After being discharged, I went to work in th Alaska oilfields. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1983 and I was asked to work for the Facilities Management department of the Church in 1983. We were asked to move to Montana in 1992 and have lived here since that time. I have always enjoyed doing woodwork and have done so for over 40 years, including furniture, cabinets, toys, tools, clocks, carvings and anything that shows the beauty of wood.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that I have always wanted an eternal family and now I know how I can have an eternal family. I believe that what is sealed on earth must be sealed in Heaven. Being sealed in a Holy Temple of the Lord to my family here on earth gives me the opportunity to live with my family for all eternity with Heavenly Parents if I am worthy. Jesus Christ is real and He died and a small drop of his blood was for me and I can never forget that and will never forget that. Everyday I try and think of what, or who or when, I can do something for to let Him know that I do remember. Isn't it amazing that we can continue to have prophets today just as when Jesus was here, leading us and encouraging us to do a little better, a little more, each day. Amazing that we can have modern day scriptures that help us understand the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. Modern prophets and modern scripture to guide us through the troubled world we live in. What a breath of freshness.

How I live my faith

I love serving the Lord in anyway I am asked. I have been very blessed to have served with some wonderful bishops and eccleiastical leaders over the years who have taught me the importance of listening to the Holy Ghost as the Lord prompts us to go and do things in our lives and to help others to help them in their lives. When people's lives are changed and their families grow closer together and their desire to become an eternal family, it is one of the most heart warming feelings that I can ever imagine.
