Hi I'm Elizabeth Lowe

I'm about to go on a mission to Germany, I'm a convert to the church, I absolutely love theatre, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hello! I'm so pleased to meet you. I've been a convert to the church for almost 3 years now, and I'm the only member of my family who is LDS! Strangely the same people who led me to the church, my two best friends, also led me to my license greatest passion: theatre! I can recite Hamlet, sing Phantom of the Opera, reenact Moliere's best comedies, and rap Hamilton like I wrote the show. I could honestly talk about musicals for hours on end until your ears fall off. In addition to my obsession with the stage, I'm also a huge fan of crime shows. Documentaries, dramas, you name it. Really, if the theatre thing doesn't work out for me, being a homicide detective is totally my backup plan. However, I think the thing I'm most excited about right now is my mission! Germany is the perfect place for me and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to serve the Lord and spread the gospel. I can't wait to get out there and do good works!

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a member of this church because I wanted to become a better person. That was my goal from the very beginning, I was going to turn my life around and have standards to live by and expectations to hold myself to. However, as time went on and I took lessons, I was asked to pray if the church was true. At that time I was 16 and had no idea how to pray. I had never done it before. But I mean, what's the harm, right? So one sunny afternoon when I had come home from school I decided I would try to pray. Maybe it was all true. I honestly didn't expect anything to come of it. So I went to my room and closed the door and suddenly got the feeling that I should just put the book of Mormon in front of me as I knelt on the floor, so I did. It was the last thing I looked at before closing my eyes, bowing my head, and asking Heavenly Father of he was real, if the church was true, and if this church was where I was supposed to be. Please give me a sign. It was like a movie. Almost immediately i got chills all down my back and I was surrounded by something I had never felt before. An overwhelming feeling of love and grace and comfort. I felt it everywhere, from my hair to my toes and all inside my heart, mind, and soul. And I wept. From that moment, I knew. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I enjoy going to church every Sunday not only for the extremely spiritual experience of going to Sacrament meeting, but also because I'm a primary teacher! I teach a class of a handful 4 year olds, and let me tell you, they are the most exhausting and sometimes the most spiritually in tune things on the planet. They can be going a mile a minute one second, and then be making incredible observations about the gospel that most adults can't see! Ultimately, they've taught me so much and it makes me so happy to see their shining little faces every week.
