Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up in Nevada. I like to read. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I'm a mother of eight children. I used to work in insurance and am now a secretary. I'm trying to learn the Malay language.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to the Mormon Church and have had a testimony of its truthfulness since I was young. I can't imagine going to any other Church. I want to follow my Savior, Jesus Christ, and be obedient to my Heavenly Father's commandments. I know that is the only way to truly be happy.

How I live my faith

I'm the Ward Music Chairman and go home/visiting teaching with my husband. We are soon to be Missionaries.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The purpose of Church welfare is to promote self-reliance and to care for and serve the poor and needy. For assistance, people are encouraged to work (when able) so that they are blessed and can bless the lives of others. Work is a guiding principle in the Church's welfare program. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Much of what is done in the Church is to bless and help those who are not Mormon. The Mormon Church has assisted many different countries in need of humanitarian aid since it started keeping track in 1985. Many of these countries have few to no Mormons and are also non-Christian. Mormon missionaries serve throughout the world today. All of their service is to help those who are not Mormon. I like the quote from Joseph Smith that we are "to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all." If the world followed this teaching, there would be more peace and happiness throughout the world. Show more Show less
