Hi I'm Jacob Ewell

I've lived in seven different states in the US. I'm a third degree black belt. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jacob and I have lived all over the United States. I have grown up in a large family with a lot of different influences of the church in my family. I have been Mormon my entire life and could never wish it any other way. When I was younger I started Tae Kwon Do which is a Korean martial art. It taught me discipline, self control, and respect at a very young age. I wouldn't be the person I am today without it and through a lot of hard work and dedication me and all of my siblings were able to get our black belts and then three of us were also able to get our third degree black belts. I also love football. I played football throughout high school as a defensive linemen switching between defensive end and defensive tackle. A hard part in my life was when I got injured badly in my left knee in my senior year and that was a very hard time for me but through the help of my family and God I was able to overcome my trials.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised a member of this church my entire life. However this does not mean I was brainwashed by my parents because although my parents have raised me so good my entire life to be the man I want to be but ultimately in everyone's life you have to find out the things taught in this church for yourself and gain your own personal testimony of this gospel. I was able to gain this testimony when I was the age of 14. When I was 14 I went on a church history trip where we saw all these different church sites that were in the Doctrine and covenants. One of the days we had scheduled was a visit to the sacred grove where Joseph smith got on his knees and prayed to God to know which of the churches were true. It was here that he was visited by God and Jesus Chirst and told that none of the churches were completely true. Well I was able to walk the very ground Joseph smith walked upon and one of our tour guides provided us with letter from home since it had been a while since we had seen our families. Well this included one from my brother that was currently serving his mission and before then I had prayed long and hard to know if this church was true and to gain my own testimony. Well in my brothers letter when I read it at the sacred grove I was filled with an overwhelming feeling of the Holy Spirit as I read my brother bare his testimony to me on that piece of paper and at that moment I knew that this church was true and that I would live my life for God.

How I live my faith

I am currently preparing to serve a full time, 2-year mission for the Mormon church. A little while ago I got called to serve in Norway and the past three months of preparation were some of the best months I've been able to experience in a long time. I have just been so close with God and my family because I've been studying the scriptures hard and striving to be the best person and example I can be. It is always scary to think that I am going to be help teaching people and providing them a way back to their Heavenly Father but to think I will be doing it for 2 years in a different country across the world and in a different language was very intimidating at first. However, now I realize that if I just look to God and pray and fast that I will be able to effectively communicate with the people of Norway I know I will be able to fulfill the duties that God has laid out before me. It will still not be easy however I know that if I try my hardest and look to God then I will be able to do anything he asks of me.
