Hi I'm Sue

I grew up in England. I now live in the USA. I have found over 2,000 ancestors on Family Search. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in England where I converted to the Mormon Church; the only one in my family to do so. I served a mission in Scotland. I immigrated to the United States many years ago and now have a large family here. I have worked on, and taught others much about genealogical research. My husband and I have worked together since the teen years of our children. We help people solve financial problems for their retirement or to get back on their targets. It has been an interesting and rewarding career. Together we like to watch birds and take our grand kids on fun outings. I have spent much of my life photographing our family events, creating great memories with action shots that our kids now enjoy browsing to show their kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Mormon faith. Because of it I understand my life has meaning and that it will be OK to die as life goes on after this. It has taught me to value my family and find joy in all of them. It has taught me tolerance and forgiveness go a long way in finding joy. It is a good feeling to live in a community of people who are generally trying to live peaceable and friendly lives and that are for the most part morally clean living people. I love the fact we have a prophet today. It makes so much sense to me that if God called prophets in ancient times we need one now more than ever to help us keep our faith in the return of the Savior. I Love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

At Church I lead the young children in singing for a period of time each Sunday. The songs are simple and short but have significant messages of faith in Christ and service along with encouragement to live with good character. Performances of many of them can be found on the LDS.org website along with videos. My husband and I both enjoy reading the scriptures, including the Book of Mormon and other modern scriptures and discussing them together. We find them applicable to so much of life. We also enjoy going to Church Socials. Mormons like to have fun, to dance and do service together. We join with others in the community to do service for the needy.
