Hi I'm Marissa

I am a reader, a dreamer, and a believer!

About Me

Right now I am a sister missionary assigned to labor in southern California. When I return I plan to finish my bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science and become a food scientist or a registered dietitian. I like hiking and rappelling, and I recently discovered my immense love for cows. Reading fantasy books is a favorite pastime, one that I'll always burn the midnight oil for, and I love learning in all it's varieties. I'm usually not afraid to try new things, especially when it comes to food, and I'm always the person who will give you a hug. My favorite people are my niece and nephew, and they just melt my heart with their sweet smiles and laughter.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found that there is nothing that brings me greater joy in this life than by living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also know that through Christ's sacrifice I can be forgiven of my sins, and that every day is a new chance to become more like my Savior. I know that God has a purpose for each and every one of us, and that He loves every one of us with an infinite and never-ending love and desires us to reach our divine potential. I know that I wouldn't be the same without this gospel in my life, and that it has changed me and my life infinitely for the better!

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is by trying to be the best example that I can be for good. I've had the opportunity to be a music director in my congregation and have participated in many youth and young-adult choirs, singing music hymns and other songs that glorify our Savior. I am also a family history consultant, and I work with those who wish to learn more about their ancestors who have died, and connect them to their family tree. Genealogical work is a never-ending task, but I love learning more about my ancestors and how they have helped to shape me into who I am today.
