Hi I'm Thomas

I live in the "Emerald Isle" of Ireland. I am married and have one teenage son. I love life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have two brothers. I am a husband and Father. Family matters very much to me. My interests include walking in places of scenic beauty, swimming and going to the gym. I enjoy reading books about leadership, philosophy, theology, politics, psychology, English literature and biographies. I like mathematics and science. I love to watch movies with humor, meaningful messages and epic stories. I am inspired by people who face difficult situations with courage and resolve. I am encouraged by those who surmount obstacles on their path to achievement.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the gentle and powerful spiritual experiences I have had. I love being a member of the Church because it meets the deepest needs of my life. It is intellectually satisfying, emotionally touching, spiritually enlivening, socially engaging and physically exciting. Being a member of the Church helps me to understand the meaning and purpose of my life. My Faith has taught me that this beautiful gift of life is a precious treasure to be valued, enjoyed and experienced with richness. Having grown up in difficult circumstances it was sometimes hard for me to believe that life could be wonderfully good for me personally. However, the experiences I have had with learning what Faith can do has motivated me to raise my personal vision of what is possible in my life. My Faith has been a message of hope, strength, beauty, renewal and peace for me for many years. Often, when I have felt myself in deep waters, facing challenges of many kinds and degrees, I have turned to messages of Faith to remind myself that life is good and beautiful. Faith is about flying, learning, growing and sharing. What a better world this would be if everyone felt the personal truth of how precious each and every individual is to God. He has a plan for us. He has called a Prophet in this day - Joseph Smith - to teach us His plan of happiness. I know that Jesus Christ is central to that plan. He has provided the way for us - through His Church - to find true peace and lasting joy as we come to know Him and Follow Him. Life - although challenging - is a marvelous miracle. There is so much more to life than material things. At 44 years of age I know more firmly than ever that the truth is that we are all capable of being more and doing more than we ever imagined. I am grateful to share my Faith with others. I love to share this hope restoring and life affirming story with a world in such desperate need of its message. May God Bless you and bring you peace.

How I live my faith

I am very actively involved in Church service. I have regular opportunities to teach, lead, guide, share, serve and help others. I regard this as an honor and privilege. I especially love to work with those in the early stages of learning about the purpose and power of Faith in their lives. For me, Faith is intended to be more than something I believe, rather, it is to be something I do, on a daily basis. I feel that the opportunity to use faith to help others is a special gift. As a eighteen-year old young man I did two years voluntary work as a missionary for my Church in England. That gave me the opportunity to share my Faith with others and helped me to become a better person. That experience has helped me to be a better man, better husband and Father, better employee and better brother and friend.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

God loves each of His children with a perfect, everlasting love. He has called a Prophet in recent times - Joseph Smith - to restore many plain and precious truths which have been lost to the world. He has done this to show us that He loves us and wants to bless us. He wants us to know Him and love Him. His restored truths help us to understand Him better and feel that we can draw close to Him in humble prayer. The truths that God has given to His prophets are intended to bless all people. They teach, guide, lift, bless, heal, encourage, comfort and strengthen us. God wants us to know these truths as they will help us in every time of need. Every individual can find out for themselves - through study, prayer and action - that these "restored truths" are beautiful, hopeful, understandable and helpful. I invite you to discover them for yourself. Show more Show less
