Hi I'm Beth

I'm the youngest of 9 kids. I love to sing and dance. I'm 6 feet tall. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am attending the University of Utah, where I want to get my degree in secondary education, and get my masters degree in Music. In high school it made such a huge difference for me when I had a good teacher that cared about me, and made me enjoy the material. Especially in math, there was such a difference between the great teachers, and the mediocre ones. I decided that if someone could make me enjoy a subject I'd previously hated... couldn't I do the same thing for other kids. I have danced, sang, and performed all over the country and the world, and participated in various choirs, productions, and groups. Music is my favorite thing in this entire world. I have found that music is the universal language, and it is able to reach into the very heart of people. I would not be who I am today if I had not discovered my passion for singing so many years ago.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints for my entire life. I loved hearing about the different scripture stories, my favorite of which was "Jonah and the Whale". There were so many around me who were willing to help me when I needed it, and guide me when I had questions. That is something that I love about the Mormon faith, is that we are encouraged to ask questions, and constantly be searching for answers. When I was 16 I sought to find the answer as to whether the gospel that I had been learning about my whole life was true. I prayed and studied, and after some time I came to know that I am a beloved daughter of God, and that He loves me and knows me perfectly. I learned that Jesus Christ's Atonement is the single greatest gift each and every one of us could ever receive. And I learned that I could be with my amazing family for time and all eternity.

How I live my faith

Most recently I have served as a Sunday school teacher. I teach youth ages 13-15. I love seeing them take the things they have learned in church and apply it to the rest of their lives. It has also been a privilege seeing them learn that they are a child of God, and that when they can turn nowhere else they can always turn to him. I am also the ward chorister and I lead the congregation in the church hymns. Music is so powerful, and I love being able to help invite the spirit into our meeting through music. Our hymns have very profound messages within them that have touched my heart time and time again.
