Hi I'm Luc Foxley

I spent my first year of life in Paris, I was homeschooled my whole life, I'm a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First of all, I am the youngest of six children. My family was all raised in the LDS church, and all six kids were homeschooled by our amazing mother. My father worked for the United States Department of State, and so my family spent almost ten years living overseas. I, being the youngest, remember none of it; although I did spend my first year of life in Paris, France. We then moved back to the United States, intending to move to the western states, where my extended family lives. Instead, we stayed in the East, in central Virginia, which is the only home I have ever known. I am a nerd for martial arts. Bruce Lee has been my hero since childhood, and I give him the credit for inspiring me to practice martial arts. I studied Tenshinkai Aikido for a year, and then moved on to a mix of Tae Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do, which I now hold a black belt for. I have always believed that the human body is the most amazing machine on this earth, it can do nearly anything with proper training; it is a beautiful gift that God has given each of us. I would one day like to be able to surf and snowboard, and would like to go hang gliding, and also skydiving, at least once in my life. I love being outdoors, especially in the mountains. I love the Muppets, (most of my sense of humor is from watching the Muppet Show as a child) I love music, from classical to classic rock, especially the Beatles. Dogs are my favorite animals, ninjas are better than pirates, and I believe that life is fabulous.

Why I am a Mormon

My whole family was raised in the Mormon church. But that is not why I am Mormon. I am a Mormon by my own choice. I'm a Mormon because I have studied the teachings of the church, and prayed about the truth of them many times; and each time I have done so, I have received clear inspiration that they are true. I'm a Mormon because I know from experience that deep, lasting happiness can only come when we follow ALL of the teachings of Jesus Christ. But most of all, I'm a Mormon because of the spirit of truth that comes with all of the teachings and principles of the church.

How I live my faith

I am leaving to serve a two-year mission in the country of Spain, serving the Malaga mission area, starting on November 27th, 2017. I study my scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, daily. I do my best to live the teachings of Jesus Christ every day, and everyone who knows me knows that I am a Mormon. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and all the good that it does.
