Hi I'm Omar Castillo

I grew up in Maryland. I am studying at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am originally from Mexico. My family moved to Maryland when I was 6 years old. I grew up there. I loved participating in leadership organizations in middle and high school, like Student Government Associations. I was also ran in Cross Country and Indoor Track. I love going on hikes with my friends. I am currently studying Human Resources in Brigham Young University. I will be serving a mission in Washington DC North starting on Jan. 2018, speaking Spanish!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member because I am way happier this way. I have assurance that if I live righteously, I will live forever with my family. I know that trials can be lightened if I put my trust in the Lord. Living the commandments is not a burden, but an opportunity for me to be blessed. Building a personal relationship with Heavenly Father and the Lord helps me see life in a different perspective which gives me hope to press forward.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be as obedient as I can. I've been studying the Book of Mormon daily, which helps me develop my relationship with the Savior and Heavenly Father. I try to be a good example for others, not just with my words, but with my actions.
