Hi I'm Marcelle

I love family history and going hiking in the mountains with my dog. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hmm....what could I say about me? I have two brothers and two sisters all younger. I lived in the same town I was born in until I moved to the other end of the state to go to college. I love the outdoors and spending time with other people. I have discovered the joy of genealogy and, probably, spend too much time doing it. I am always up for a good novel or movie, especially if the movie comes with popcorn.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply, I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church. I know God knows who I am and loves me. I know that The Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I know that the gospel message brings happiness and peace to those who are willing to open their hearts.

How I live my faith

I have served as a family history consultant and a ward missionary. Serving as a family history consultant was how I discovered how much I love genealogy. I have learned so much about my ancestors. Soon, I will be leaving for a full time mission in Texas.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Marcelle
There is no requirement to serve a mission. As a child, I had always wanted to go. When the time came for me to start my papers, I felt the Holy Ghost telling me I needed to wait. This was difficult for me as I wanted to go as soon as possible. When I finally got the confirmation that it was time for me to go, I knew that it was the right time. I learned so much more about the church during the months I waited and I know that if I had left when I wanted to I would not be able to serve as well as I can now. Serving a mission is a personal decision for many Latter-day Saints. They do it out of love for the Lord and a desire to share the joy of the Gospel with those around them. Show more Show less
