Hi I'm Addy

I love the outdoors, I'm headed to Vancouver, Washington on a mission, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my first semester of college, and I am headed off to Vancouver Washington to serve as a missionary! I love doing anything outdoors - hiking, camping, mountain biking, running - and spending time with my friends and five younger siblings. I love music and serving others, and I have enjoyed being a part of my school's chamber choir and service organization.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a strong LDS home. As a kid, I attended church every Sunday, and my family read scriptures and prayed together. There was a time in my life that I struggled with debilitating mental and physical illness. Professionals and doctors helped me tremendously, but I never felt whole. A part of me still felt broken, and I could never pinpoint what it was. Eventually, I wondered if the missing piece was not physical or mental but spiritual. As I began attending the temple more, praying and reading my scriptures again, and worthily taking of the sacrament each week, I truly began to heal. Not only did I feel more happy, but I finally felt peace again-something I hadn't felt in so long. That broken piece was my spirit! I had yearned for mending that some of the best professionals couldn't provide. My true healing has come through the Savior and His Atonement. Peace is real! Happiness is real! It comes through the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you already have a belief in Christ, keep it! Let the restored gospel of Jesus Christ continue to add to it.

How I live my faith

One of the things I love most about the Savior is His unending love for each one of us. I strongly believe that love and service make us happy. I am a member of my school's service organization, so I have been able to spend time working with community groups to serve those right around me. I am also a member of the religious organization (Institute) for the young adults in my area, and I help plan activities. I really just try to live the things I believe.
