Hi I'm Erika

I'm an adventure seeking, book loving, and nature appreciating Mormon!

About Me

I am a BYU college student, fresh out of high school, and I am about to serve an eighteen month mission in the Canada Winnipeg mission. I absolutely love to travel, explore, and have big adventures! Something interesting about me is I'm an introvert who likes to get to know people (funny how that works). I'm an excellent listener, so I love listening to what people have to say, whether it be about their day, something they don't share with others, or just their thoughts. I believe everyone, EVERYONE, has something beautiful to say, and our thoughts are something to be treasured. It is one of the few things in this world no one can ever take away.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe that Jesus Christ's true gospel has been restored. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father, and He has a plan for each and every single one of us. He wants us to be happy, and He loves us so much that He respects our ability to choose. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that He suffered for all our sins and died on the cross so that we have the chance to live with our Father in heaven again. I know that He is always with us as we follow Him. I am eternally grateful that I was born and raised in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that my family and I are happy because of the His gospel. Our lives are not perfect, that's for sure, but as we try to live righteously, our sorrows turns into joy. Anyone can achieve true joy by reaching out to the Savior and living His gospel. I know it because I have lived it. I know what it is like to be surrounded by confusion, to not really know if there is a God. Through my challenges and struggles, I have come to know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that He loves me and wants the very best for me. He is there for me at my lowest times, reaching out to lift me up. And He is there during my triumphs, smiling and encouraging me on. And I know that He is there for you, waiting for you to reach out to Him.

How I live my faith

As a youth, I did many things in the church. For example, I participated in planning activities and dances for the young men and women. I had an absolute blast putting these events together and making new friends! I also was the chorister, so I picked hymns and led the music every Sunday. I believe that music is one of the few things that can touch a person's heart, so not only did I get to pick hymns, but I had the opportunity to perform duets every once in a while with my Mom. Now, I just love going to church! Being surrounded by people who share the same beliefs and morals as you is an amazing experience. More importantly, I appreciate the respect they have for me and for anyone else who is around.
