Hi I'm Kirstyn

I was born and raised in Franklin, Idaho with my twin sister. I've been a Mormon all my life.

About Me

I have been a member of the LDS church my entire life, I was born and raised in it. I have a twin sister who is one minute older than me. I've taken piano and voice lessons so I love to sing and play the piano, music is a huge part of my life. I like to mess around with my camera and pretend that I am a photographer. I recently graduated high school, where I played volleyball my freshman year and was on student council my senior year. I will be serving a mission in Russia starting in January of 2018 and I'm super excited! Afterwards I plan on going to college where I would like to major in Photography or Dietetics. My family is so important to me, and I love spending time with them more than anything else!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all of my life, and I can't explain how thankful I am for that. His church and His gospel have been, and continue to be, the biggest blessing in my life. The pure happiness I find and feel can only be found within the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I will never give it up. As long as I try to follow His gospel, my life is better and I find that the trials and hard times that I go through are easier to get through, and my burdens are made lighter because of our Savior Jesus Christ. There is no other way or place to find the pure, real happiness that the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings into a person's life than in Jesus Christ Himself and His church, which is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am a Mormon because being Mormon means being a member of His church, which is the only true church on the earth today. I know it is the only true church because I have felt it in my heart, and by having read the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is the keystone to our religion, it holds truth that can't be found anywhere else and it is true. Reading the Book of Mormon brings power into my life, and it brings me closer to my Savior Jesus Christ and helps me rely on Him for everything and He makes my life the best it could be. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to follow the example of Jesus Christ, who was the perfect example of love and charity. I live my faith by going to church every Sunday and devoting my time to learn more about His gospel and increase my faith and testimony of Him. As I mentioned music being a big part of my life, I have fortunately been called as the Ward Choir Director of my ward where I lead the choir, and help them prepare to preform for our ward every month. To me, music is my favorite way to worship Heavenly Father and show my faith and trust in Him.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Kirstyn
Everything tells me that there is a God. To know that there is a God, a person simply must look around and see the beauty of the Earth, for He was the one who created it. The frost on the grass, the stars in the sky, the leaves changing colors, earthquakes, hurricanes, and the very fact that we get to live this life and breathe everyday are all proof that there is a God. Trees didn't just appear, stars didn't just start to shine, and earthquakes don't just happen because the earth decides to move. He created trees and placed them, He created the stars in the firmament and commanded them to shine, and the earth moves because He commands it to move. There is a Supreme Creator, and He is the reason we live this life on this earth, because He created us and sent us here. Show more Show less
