Hi I'm Pete

I grew up in Utah. I have overcome addiction. I believe in repentance. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am an avid hiker. I love the sights, smells, everything. My best memories are with friends and family exploring God's creations. With good walk through the forest, it is inevitable that your hiking comrade and you will have some of the most quality conversations you can have. I also dance and sing. The group I have travelled with in the past has performed for the elderly, the disabled, and otherwise afflicted--all throughout the country. You wouldn't know it, but I smile twice as hard as the audience ever does during the performance. Its something I truly love. I like to think that I am making God smile too.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I when strive for constant obedience, I feel the Savior's infinite love for me. Christ has lifted me from the pits of misery, and my joy grows stronger every day. The gospel is not always easy, but it is always simple. I have a testimony that God has not left us lost. The scriptures are there to lead us safely home. I love the scriptures, and I love prayer. I know that I am heard. I know God gives all of His children unfathomable potential. I can't imagine a better gift. Jesus Christ lives, and his atonement is available to any who partake.

How I live my faith

My favorite part of the Gospel is repentance. It has been a life-line when it has seemed like sinking was the only option. I fell into addiction when I was fourteen. Repentance takes a long time and can be difficult, but I have a strong testimony that if we submit to the will God, and truly have a change of heart, we are forgiven for anything. Addiction is a tricky thing. At times I psyched myself out of repentance because I thought that my addiction would never let me have a change of heart--I was too far-gone. I now know this is wrong though. I know that if any of God's children try to be better just a little bit, that little bit of effort goes a long way. I am a different man than I was not too long ago. Prayer has been my biggest asset. I know that God hears me. I know that all I need to do is to plea for help, and be willing to follow the guidance of the spirit. He will then lead the broken, and make them whole once more.
