Hi I'm Makayla

I am from Utah. I have lived in Utah my whole life. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite hobby is dancing! I started dance when I was three years old. I have been on many different teams including studio and school teams. Some of my most favorite memories have come from being a part of my high school ballroom team. I got to make so many new friends and I was able to perform for my community. Another passion I have is for music. I never learned how to play piano, but I have taught myself a few songs on the piano through YouTube. Playing the piano (as best as I can) is one of my most favorite past times. I also love playing the ukulele. I taught myself how to play, and now I can't stop! It is so much fun to play the ukulele because it allows me to stop thinking about the stresses of every day life. One of my main interests are animals! I love animals with my whole heart! I grew up always having at least one pet around. Ever since I have loved animals, especially dogs. My dream is to someday be able to work with animals in some way for a living. I plan on going to school to be able to accomplish that dream!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. It is truly His church. The church teaches us and helps us to become like Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints brings me peace and happiness. In a world where the standards are constantly changing I know I can put my anchor into the church because the standards will never change. I know what is expected of me and I know that if I ever have a question I can turn to this gospel and get an answer that will help me through my entire life. I am a Mormon because I can feel peace at times when everything is so chaotic. The church has so many promised blessings and it helps me to know that even in hard times everything will be okay. I am a Mormon because my Savior loves me. He knows me individually. He knows my heart's desires, He knows when I am sad and lonely and He comforts me. Jesus Christ loves each of us no matter the mistakes we have made and He wants us to come back to Him. Christ suffered and died for everybody so that we can repent, change and come to Him. He suffered so He could know how to help us when we are in pain and when we go through hard things. He loves us so much! That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith my serving and loving people around me. In the past I have lived my faith by serving in the church. I was a youth leader. I would be an example to the youth and help reach out to those who may not have many friends or didn't feel comfortable.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Makayla
The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It teaches about Christ and the things He wants us to know; His commandments. It has writings and teachings from ancient prophets. Like the bible it teaches of people that lived before, during, and after Christ's ministry on earth. It teaches us of Christ's atonement and His church. At the end of The Book of Mormon it gives an amazing promise to those that prayerfully read and study it will receive an answer of its truthfulness through the power of the Holy Ghost. What is faith?

Makayla
Faith is believing in something that is unseen, or unknown. Having faith is so important because we have to have faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Faith in them is trusting that their plan for us is going to make us happier than we ever imagined. Sometimes faith is hard because we cannot see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Or we don't know what is going to happen in the future. Faith can be an anchor to us, and help us to know that everything will be okay. That our future and our lives are in God's hands. Faith is knowing everything will be okay and that you will be happy eventually. Show more Show less
