Hi I'm Elona Shields

I was raised in Harrisville, Utah. I am married have 3 children, 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mom and Grandma, I like to sew, do crafting, I am kind of a jack of all trades. I have worked with the handicapped, the elderly, and enjoyed that a lot. I grew up riding horses, and working in the garden. I love most animals and people in general. I love to travel and see new places, I love to learn about the history of the places I visit.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I have attended other churches to find this out for myself. I have struggled with things as most everyone does in my life and have experienced when the spirit was with me and when he was not. At my darkest times I prayed that he would help me to find my way to the light. At those times someone from the church would show up or I would meet someone that radiated that light. I knew he was listening to me and showing me the path I needed to follow. As I attended church and gave of my service to others I felt light come into me that I had forgotten was there, and peace that I had been searching for. I know that Heavenly father lives and that his son Jesus Christ lives and is watching over each of us, he hears and answers our prayers. This gospel gives peace, comfort, and understanding to those whose seek for it with real intent.

How I live my faith

I have done many callings in the church, like food storage organizing, teaching the little children, I have worked with the women of the church in helping to build and strengthen them in different areas. I love visiting teaching and the opportunity to get to know the sisters on a one to one basis. I have helped in the area schools to help the children to read better. I support the family history group here in our area, learning about my heritage.
