Hi I'm Mel

I grew up in the US in Oregon, Idaho and Utah. I am going on a mission for the Church to Iowa Des Moines. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just started college a couple months ago. I am going into the field of psychology. I love to read, really a wide variety of books. I love nature and photography and videography, mainly of nature. I enjoy hiking and jogging in good weather.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I was born into the church, but my family was slightly inactive during my teenage years. I started working on Sundays after I turned 16 and stopped going to church altogether. Eventually, a leader in my ward then took me in. The second I walked into her home, I felt a love and peace that I have never been able to recreate completely. I started attending church again for the first time in close to two years. I felt His love as I walked through the church. I got my temple recommend and visited the House of the Lord, and I knew that I had found my home, and that I would never leave.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I am a family history consultant, which means I help people find out about their ancestors and family, and help them create their eternal family. I also visit teach with another woman in my ward, where we go and talk to other girls about the gospel and serve if needed.
