Hi I'm Kelsey Gonzales

I grew up in California, I love learning, and meeting new people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a freshman college student at Brigham Young University and am about to leave to serve a mission in the Dominican Republic. I love to do long distance running, soccer, hiking in the mountains, learning about city planning and I also love spiders! I think they are so cute! I enjoy being involved at school with clubs and service projects and I also have a niche for learning new recipes in the kitchen. Oh, and I am known for singing random songs during everyday activities to fill the quiet

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because, through every trial and question I have experienced, I have been able to find strength and motivation through the atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. This gospel teaches me of Jesus Christ and provides me with a way to be close to him so that I can become more like Him. This aspect of the church has brought to me a sense of self worth, a priceless eternal, wide perspective, and a powerful understanding of love and service. I know that this gospel is under God's care and that His power is on the earth today, through the priesthood and His living Prophets. I know that God is watching over every single one of us and that we can all return to Him. He wants us to return to Him, so he has provided a way for us to do so, through His fully restored gospel. I am a Mormon because I have learned for myself, feeling the truth of it through the Holy Ghost, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only completely true church on the Earth. I will eternally be grateful for this knowledge I have and the opportunities I have to share the joy I get from that knowledge.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being helping plan fun activities for my ward, visting with other girls in the ward as a visiting teacher, and striving to be service minded even when my classes are demanding. It can be tough to look outward but I can always feel strength when I act in faith. Finally, I live my faith by being willing to serve a full time mission for the church and preparing now so that I can best benefit the people of Santo Domingo in January!
