Hi I'm Gabriel

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was born in HI and grew up in Northern CA. I love volleyball.

About Me

I am preparing to serve my mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the India Bengaluru Mission. I am currently declared as EE major, and will be returning to BYU-Provo when I come back from my mission. I love physical activities, especially sports, and my main one is volleyball. I have played since 6th grade for both school and club teams. I have helped assistant coach youth teams, and it was a great experience to work with the kids. I am in a family of 6, with 3 sisters. My ethnic background is Filipino and Indian. I have played video games since I was younger; my main genre being fps. I love the ocean, everything about it, and the beach. I am an Eagle Scout, and my favorite thing about the Scouting program was the archery merit badge and my Eagle Scout service project; I made medicine cabinets for orphanages in Afghanistan.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the Church and was baptized when I was 8. I continue to commit myself to the gospel of Jesus Christ and maintain my membership because of the knowledge I have gained about doctrinal truths, and with that knowledge I have the responsibility to act and follow what I know is right. I would like to share my witness of this Church and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know this Church contains the fullness of the gospel, and is the true Church of Jesus Christ. I know that there is an omniscient God, our Heavenly Father, who loves us and cares for our well being. I know He sent His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to the Earth to sacrifice Himself on behalf of all of God's spirit children through the Atonement. We can repent to become clean and pure through His atoning sacrifice and power. I know both Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ constantly want to help and guide us into the path of eternal happiness. I know they both have physical bodies of flesh and bone just as us, yet are glorified and perfect. I know they work through prophets to help teach us and answer our questions and prayers. Joseph Smith was a righteous and worthy prophet of God who saw God the Father and Jesus Christ, and restored the Church of Jesus Christ in these Latter-days. I know there are living prophets in these days, and that Russel M. Nelson is an inspired prophet of God who leads His church today. I know of the truthfulness and power we can learn from ancient prophets in the scriptures. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, the keystone of our religion, and a Second Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most perfect book, and contains all the answers we seek; this has been manifested throughout my life, I know this to be true. I love this gospel, and I know it is real, and there is a plan for all of us to return back God. I say these things, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I attend a ysa(young single adults) ward at college, and participate in weekly activities of Ward FHE(family home evening-where we play games, sports, activities, etc.), Ward Prayer(where we come together as a ward and pray), and Church on Sundays for 3 hours.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Gabriel
We are taught that the first and greatest commandment is to love God, and second is to love thy neighbor. To show our love for God, we strive to serve anyone we can because they are our brothers and sisters, and we love them. Show more Show less
