Hi I'm Taylor

I grew up in Texas, I love dogs, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I loved going to my first semester in college and am so excited to be serving in the Nevada Reno mission January 3, 2018! I love playing piano and I have played for about 13 years so far. I have a cute dog named Duke at home in Texas! I've had some surgeries over the years for pectus excavatum and 3 lung collapses which have all been growing experiences for me. I love getting to be with my family and laugh with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family with only my mom and my brother being members. My dad was pretty anti-Mormon for a while. My brother eventually fell away in high school and I don't remember him being in the gospel since I was so young. As I grew, I really learned who I was and what I wanted our family to be. I began to search the scriptures, I learned why my brother had fallen away and tried to do my best to avoid those things as I have seen the difference in our lives. Prayer has been an immense power in our lives as my mom and I have grown in the gospel together. Heavenly Father hears our prayers. He is not silent. My father's heart has greatly softened over the years and allowed us to be more involved in the church although he is still not yet a member. I've had to have some surgery on my lungs and chest which were times of serious prayer and faith. I know that they have been so necessary and faithful-building moments. I have been blessed to have these things happen so that I can heal better. They have helped me learn how to be kind despite being in pain, and they have also provided me with opportunities to share with others how God's hands and tender mercies were so very prevalent during that time. I have had to figure out for myself that this gospel is true. It's the little things that keep us on track and onto the righteous path so that we can return to our heavenly home that our spirits once came from. I know that as we are grateful in all circumstances and ever aware of the good being brought into our lives, we will find that God and His Beloved Son are always there in our lives, never silent.

How I live my faith

Here at college in my church I teach a class of women and I trade off teaching every other Sunday with two other teachers. I know that it is important to read the scriptures every single day so that we can remember the words of our Heavenly Father and come to continuously learn about His character and mercy. At one point, I was also able to teach the youth of the church about Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and some of the history of our church. I love being able to share the true nature of our Heavenly Father and our Savior and the Holy Ghost that we have been given to comfort us when we need it.
