Hi I'm Laney

Called to serve in New York! I love guitar and ASL. I love to laugh. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was raised all over the US-mainly all over Utah and Missouri. I love playing guitar and violin; I enjoy music in general. I enjoy longboarding, hiking, biking, frisbee, swimming, and soccer. I find a lot of satisfaction in journaling and photography. I love the ocean and summertime. I am a sister to 4 brothers and 2 sisters. They are my best friends. I just finished my sophomore year at college and I am preparing to leave to New York in January on my mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church, but that is certainly not why I am a member today. I am a member because I have asked and discovered for myself the truthfulness of this church. I have applied its teachings in my life and I know that obedience to God's commandments have made me a happier individual. But this church does more for me than just create better relationships and happier people. It helps me understand why I am here on earth and what MY purpose is. It helps me see that I have divine and endless potential. Because of this church I understand that because of a loving Savior, I can live with my loved ones again. It teaches me that through repentance and faith on Jesus Christ all of us can return to our heavenly home. I know this church is the only and true living church upon the earth. I know Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon to go hand in hand with the Bible to give us the fullness of truth. I know that God leads His church through living apostles and prophets today. I am so grateful for this church and the peace and purpose it gives me.

How I live my faith

I am choosing to leave my home to serve a mission for 18 months in upstate New York. I know it will be the hardest thing I have ever done, but I have faith that it will be beyond worth it.
