Hi I'm Daniel Jordan Ellis

I am from Utah, but I can speak fluent Danish. I will be serving a full time mission in Denmark as well. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! My name is Daniel and I am 18. Some stuff that I have done include sports, chess, and musical things as well. Just like a regular boy teenager, I like my video games. The sports that I used to play were soccer, basketball, and volleyball. I played all these in high-school, but only made it on the team for the first two (soccer and basketball). I used to be a very good chess player as well. The last tournament I participated in was the Utah State Chess tournament. There, I took third place. However, the year afterwards, I ended up joining the sports teams, and so there was no time for chess. My whole life, I have been engaged in doing something musical. That includes singing in church choirs, school choirs, concerts, solo competitions, and operas. I recently competed at a solo and ensemble festival and received the highest marks possible for my performance. Also, I have done musicals as well. The first musical I did was "The Secret Garden," where I was privileged to play as Dickon. The next play I did was named, "The Struggles;" For this play, we won at our school, then took second at regions, and finally, we were able to compete at state as well. The last play I did was also a musical titled, "Thoroughly-Modern Millie," where I was able to play as Mr. Trevor Graydon III. Later I was able to take the Ap Music Theory at our school, where I received a 4 on the test. I have also had the privilege to be partially homeschooled as well.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I wasn't converted into the church, I was born into this blessed church. Conversion is really not about joining the church, it is about living the gospel everyday and even every moment of your life. I continue to follow this gospel because I know it is true. This restored gospel of Jesus Christ is essential to a truly happy life. Knowing that you are following your God and being obedient to him, is unlike any other thing. I have a testimony of this gospel. I know it is true. I have witnessed it and it's many miracles. I know we also have a living Prophet that gives us direct revelation from God.

How I live my faith

In my ward, I have always been faithful in my duties and callings. Recently, I have accepted a calling to serve a full-time, two year mission in Denmark. Luckily, I already have had the privilege to learn the language native to that country. This is known as Danish. Being a member of this church gives me the opportunity to serve others in and out of the church. As I was growing up, I did not like it very much, I will admit that. However, as I have grown older in stature and maturity, I have realized that I actually like serving other people. It makes me happy! As a youth, I was called as a representative from our ward to a part of the Stake Youth Committee. In this calling I was able to plan fun activities with other teenagers and leaders for the rest of the youth in the whole stake (which was close to 400 people). At times I thought that I was inadequate for the calling that I was given, but after I had pondered about the subject, I realized that I was really supposed to be there, at that time.
