Hi I'm Savannah Stewart

I'm a missionary. I'm from Houston. I play music. I'm a Taekwondo Instructor. I work with the Deaf. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to live a full life. I often joke that I have way too many hobbies and I can't decide which I love more, so I do all of them. I play both piano and guitar and one day soon, the violin. One of my many hobbies is arranging hymns and playing them for people. I grew up in Taekwondo. I'm now a fourth degree black belt and I've been an instructor for many years. My favorite student is my father. My family is also so important to me. I have wonderful parents and 4 younger brothers and 2 little sisters. I also have had the privilege to work with the Deaf and to learn American Sign Language. The Deaf are so very special to me!! I am who I am partially because of the Deaf that I served. I really love education. My mom homeschooled my siblings and I and when I come home from my mission I want to go to BYU Provo. I also have a very beautiful blind Snowshoe Siamese named Gertie :) I am currently in the MTC and I will be leaving for the field in 2 weeks. I have been called to serve in the Washington, Vancouver ASL mission. I can't wait to serve the Deaf and to save my friends there.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the Gospel is true. I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is a true record and was translated by a prophet of God. I know through the Priesthood power that families are forever. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints IS Christ's church and that it was restored. I believe in the everlsting Atonement of Christ. He really died for us so we could repent and become clean to live with Him and our Heavenly Father again. I am a Mormon because I know it's true.

How I live my faith

I enjoy reading my scriptures every day and trying to act how Chirst would want me to act. I do my best to share my talents and I love paying my tithing. I go to church every Sunday and do my best to participate, and to learn at least one new thing every week. Each day I try to live and become as He is. I never stop smiling; I do my best to always be happy. I have the gospel in my life, why wouldn't I be happy? I also live my faith by trying to be a good example and representative of Christ.

What is being a Mormon like?

Savannah Stewart
Being a Mormon is the best thing that's ever happened to me. It's my life. I live it and I love it!!! Following the Commandments, listening to the prophet, being modest, being obedient, being morally clean, and daily scripture study and prayer keep me free and happy. I have true joy. I know that if I live in the way I know I'm supposed to that my Heavenly Father is proud of me. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Savannah Stewart
Family is super important to Mormons. Why? It's the basis of our teachings. The Gospel is all about families. The Plan of Salvation teaches us that families are the central unit. We came here to earth to have families! Families teach us how to act, how to teach, how to become more like Christ, and how to become the people that we need to be. Families are forever and everything!! Show more Show less
