Hi I'm Katie Melnyk

I grew up in Southern California. I'm passionate about psychology and mental health. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the LDS Church and have loved it all my life. It has been influential when I was a little kid, when I did marching band in high school, and in deciding to go to BYU. I love music (even though I'm not very talented). I love learning about the world around me and how I can make a difference in it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS Church, and it has always been a big part of my life. From a young age I remember learning that Jesus loves me and always just kind of believing it.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for the LDS Church in Taiwan. I serve people and share Christ's everlasting gospel with them so they can learn to feel His love and try to return home to Him and our Father in Heaven.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Katie Melnyk
Mormons absolutely do not only help Mormons. On a personal level, most of the service I have done (a humanitarian aid trip to Peru and just the little things I do on a daily basis) is for the benefit of anyone and everyone. Growing up in Southern California most of my friends were/are not Mormons, but that in no way means that I help or love them any less than my Mormon friends. In a more general sense, the LDS Church does incredible global humanitarian work. We send help everywhere and to everyone including in times of natural disasters. Show more Show less
