Hi I'm Erin Larson

I really love green chili chicken enchiladas, but I love the mountains more. My family is everything to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I completed a year of college before I was called to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Porto, Portugal. As a Mormon missionary I will get to serve and teach the people of Portugal, which I am SO excited to do. My five sisters and one brother are incredibly kind and can always make me laugh. My lovely parents taught me the importance of hard work and loving everyone you meet. Their example to me is priceless. I love to learn songs on my guitar, paint, bake, and play soccer - none of which I am very good at, but that's where the hard work comes in. My favorite place in the whole world is a tiny two-room cabin at the tippy top of the mountain by my house. If I could, I would take a stack of my favorite books and live there the rest of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. I am grateful for that, it has really blessed me, but that doesn't mean that I am a Mormon just because my parents or siblings are. Every member of this church makes their own decision to be baptized, their own decision to follow Jesus Christ. Each member must gain a personal testimony that Christ lives, that He restored His Gospel to the earth, and that Gospel is found in the Bible and Book of Mormon. Our loving Heavenly Father invites us to pray to Him and ask if these things are true. I took that invitation and have never regretted it. Heavenly Father hears and answers every one of His children's prayers. He answered mine and confirmed to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the Mormon church) is His Son's (Jesus Christ's) church on the earth today. I know that because He loves you He will answer your prayers too.

How I live my faith

Christ not only taught people with words, He taught by example. I try, like all disciples of Christ, to do the same. I remember one day in high school, during a good ol' freshman P.E. class, a girl standing by me turned to me and said, "You're Mormon, aren't you." I was a little surprised. It was a big class and I had never talked to this girl before. I answered that yes, I was Mormon, and then my curiosity got the better of me and I had to ask how she knew that I was. "I can just tell," she said. "And I mean that in a good way." I live my faith by trying to act on the teachings of Jesus Christ, the things I know to be true. I am in no way perfect, and I make lots of mistakes. Christ knows that no one, except Him, could ever live a completely perfect life, so He understands when we stumble. All He asks is that we try our best, not just in church, not just on Sundays, but always. I want to live in a way that allows me to honestly say to myself everyday "I'm trying to be like Jesus."
