Hi I'm Garrick

I grew up in California. I became an eagle scout at the age of fourteen. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was home schooled until I transferred to BYU and am a mechanical engineering major. I enjoy playing Magic the gathering in my free time, specifically commander. I am currently taking a break and putting everything aside so I can go on a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, and chose to be baptized at the age of eight. I wasn't the best or brightest, and at times was heavily relying on the testimonies of others. I didn't have much reason to doubt the things I was taught, but still didn't know for myself if they were true. It wasn't until I started to earnestly seek the truth, through personal prayer and study that I received the confirmation of the Holy Ghost telling me that this was the true church. That connection to the spirit is what kept me true to the faith as I passed through trials, as I repented of mistakes, and continued reading and praying. Yet the spirit has touched me the most while I have been striving to prepare myself for my mission. I have received undeniable confirmation that this is what the Lord wants me to do, and that He will bless me and my family as I strive to do His will.

How I live my faith

I am preparing myself to go on a mission by waking early, doing early morning prayer and scripture study, and reading through "Preach My Gospel." I know that serving my mission won't be easy, but I am willing to go through with it and try my best to serve the Lord to my full capacity.
