Hi I'm Eric Ruiz

I grew up in Roseville California, I have been called to serve in the Milan, Italy mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the fifth child with two older sisters and two older brothers. I love soccer and did track and field in high school. I was also a male cheerleader in high school, I was also in a show choir for 4 years and competed. I will be serving a full time two year mission in the Milan, Italy mission and I report November 29th to the Provo MTC. When I come home I hope to go to school at BYU Idaho and become a firefighter and have a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this Church and have lived it my entire life. When the opportunity came for me to decide if I will be serving or not I had to think really hard if I truly knew this Gospel is true, or else I would be wasting two years of my life. It had always been my goal to serve a mission as a child, but now that the time had come I really did not know if I wanted to or not. I remember one day as I was thinking back on my life and when I was happiest and I came to the conclusion that the happiest times of my life was when I was living the Gospel. Not just going to church every Sunday and doing my do diligence as a member, that is just surface. My happiest moments was when I was LIVING the gospel, every hour the day I was doing my best, I was reading my scriptures every day, I was praying multiple times a day, I actively searched for opportunities to serve others. I was asking myself if I could do better, and trying to live every day as Christ would. Thats when I knew that these next two years of my life as a missionary would not be wasted. If I could feel such joy in my life, shouldn't I help other people feel that same joy? I know with certainty that this is the true Church of Christ and that living the gospel is the key to true happiness. Without this church I know I would be lost and have no direction in my life. I know I am not perfect and I fall short a lot, but I know Christ and my Heavenly Father love me just the same.

How I live my faith

I will be serving a two year mission in Italy, I will report to the Provo, Utah missionary training center November 29th. I will learn Italian there and how to effectivly teach the gospel to others. Other than that I am an active member in my ward, I help clean our church buildings and provide service when I can.
