Hi I'm Daria Evans

I have lived in Utah for the past 31 years. I'm married. I'm a Mom to 5 wonderful children. We have 1 grandchild. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 57 years young. I love my family. We have five children, aged 23 to 32. I enjoy sewing and crafts. I like to plant a garden and share it with my neighbors. I like to exercise by riding my bike, walking or doing water aerobics. I've been to Hawaii and French Polynesia. Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora are the best. I was in FFA and raised Suffolk sheep in high school. I graduated from college in zoology. I didn't use my degree, I was able to be a stay at home Mom.When the children got older, I worked at the elementary school in the computer lab and on the playground. I also worked at the high school in the Attendance Office. We're retired now and are going to be MLS missionaries beginning in October. BTW- I was born with Cerebral Palsy. It affects my right side. It does not define me. Through the years I have learned that it has been a gift to me from God. I have learned to be grateful for all that I'm able to do and have. I have compassion and empathy for others. I just do things differently. I drive with my left foot and type with my left hand. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love it. The gospel gives me meaning, purpose and direction for my life. It makes me happy. I can see God's hand in my life. Where would I be without the gospel in my life? I don't want to know. God hears and answers my prayers. I love to read the scriptures and the words of the prophets and apostles. I love the Book of Mormon. I love the testimonies of the three and eight witnesses to the Book of Mormon. When I read them, it's like they are actually talking to me and telling me they did see the plates and the Angel Moroni. I love it. I love the Proclamation on the Family and The Living Christ. They are God's words for us today. You can see how true the prophets and apostles words are in these documents. I can see how keeping the commandments has blessed my life in many ways. Living the gospel everyday has helped our family to be kind, helpful, hard working and successful. We've had our struggles but the gospel gets us through it easier. We know where to turn for peace. It's to our Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. They get us through it.

How I live my faith

I wasn't raised LDS. I joined the church when I was 16. I wasn't even looking for religion. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. The missionaries asked me if I thought that God still talked to his people. I said sure why not? Joseph Smith did see God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. God talks to us now through his prophets and apostles. Since I've joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I have taught children, youth and adults the gospel the best I can. I have also worked with the Cub Scouts. I served as a den leader, when my boys were young, and most recently as the Pack Committee Chair.
