Hi I'm Harrison

I grew up half way in Utah and then I moved to Texas. I love guitar and science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 10 siblings. I come from a divorced family. After the divorce, I moved to Texas and had to make new friends, adjust to a very different climate and a harder school system, and get used to not having very much money anymore. The divorce caused my family to be put in a hard spot financially. We weren't super poor, but we have had to have financial help from others at times in order to keep living. I love to play guitar, to play sports, and to solve logic puzzles. After my mission, I plan on attending college.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a pretty skeptical person. I always tried to do and to live how I was taught, but I never really believed in everything. Not that I didn't believe, but I just wasn't sure. Then when I was about 16, I went to a youth camp called EFY. While I was there, I learned a lot and made a lot of friends. Most importantly, though, I gained for myself a testimony of the gospel. The spirit bore such a strong witness to me that the gospel was true, that everything that I was learning in church was true, and that the LDS church is the Lord's restored church on the earth. I know how my life is when I haven't been following the gospel and I know how it has been when I have been following it well, and I can say without a doubt that this church is true, that Christ lives, and the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ talk to and communicate with us. Even though life with the gospel isn't always easy, I know from personal experience and from close friend's experiences that life with the gospel is always better than without.

How I live my faith

I have been a part in many leadership callings in each of the young men groups that I have been a part of. I was the president of one group and a counselor in a couple of others. I was also the youth representative for the 2016-2017 school year to my stake, in which I helped plan fun activities for the youth in my stake, as well as assess and help the stake address the youth's spiritual needs. My most recent calling was to be the teacher for a class of 9-10 year old boys. I have also been a home teacher over the past 6-7 years, in which I have taught/served many families in my ward.
