Hi I'm Josh

I was born and live in Utah. I am a runner, wrestler, and valedictorian of my graduating class. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports: specifically running and wrestling. In high school, I spent all four years competing in cross-country, wrestling, and track & field. There was no off season for me and I loved training year round. My most notable achievement in sports was placing 2nd at state wrestling my senior year. I also love music. I play the guitar, piano, and drums. My favorite is guitar. It is the instrument that I am best at and I have written a song on the guitar complete with lyrics. My ability to play piano is growing, but I still consider myself an amateur at the drums. I was also valedictorian of my graduating class and loved my high school. I love learning. I think that the world is an exciting place, and I love being outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony that this is the true and restored church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I was born and raised by two parents who are members of this church. They taught me about the gospel, and I have learned for myself that it is true. I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to ask God if it is true. I started reading it when I was a young teenager and prayed to know if it was true. My answer did not come immediately, but rather, when I was nearing the very end of the book. While I was reading, I felt a sure feeling come into my heart that the Book of Mormon is true. Since that time, I have had numerous other confirmations that this church is true. For me, it has come bit by bit, through living the teachings taught in the Book of Mormon, and always with some effort on my part. I did not need to witness any grand miracle to know this church is true; instead, the truth came by God speaking to me though my heart. I have felt his love and I testify that He lives.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily. Every day I read the Book of Mormon and write down at least one thing I learned from it. I also pray many times a day: in the mornings, before meals, before I go to bed, and any time during that day that I feel like I need help. My faith is the center of my life. I earnestly try to live the teachings of the gospel and am happiest when I am following the teachings of Jesus Christ. I try to set a good example for my friends and family by being kind to others and doing the right thing. I believe that living my faith goes beyond just doing what is right in front of others. I strive to be true and have integrity even when nobody else is watching. Trying to do good daily is one way I live my faith. Another sacrifice I am making for my faith is serving a mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am giving up two years of my life to serve and teach others about the gospel full-time. Even though two years is a big sacrifice and a lot of time that could be spent going to school, I am happy to show my love for God and for others. I truly am excited to show my faith in such a big way.
