Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in California. I'm an Eagle Scout. I have a passion for marine biology. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing sports, and my favorites are basketball and volleyball. I will go to college to study marine biology. I love animals, especially fish and reptiles. I've gone on a 55 mile backpacking trip in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I have spent a bit of time in the hospital and have had 6 surgeries.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and raised by parents who taught me the gospel and how to follow Christ. This does not mean that I blindly accepted the church and didn't have to discover it's truthfulness on my own. As a teenager, I had many questions and concerns about the gospel but I was able to find answers through prayer and scripture study. I know that God hears his children and answers their prayers. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God because I have read it and prayed about it for myself. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God because he was able to translate the Book of Mormon through the help of Heavenly Father. I know that God speaks to his prophets today and that Thomas S. Monson is his prophet on Earth at this time and that he receives revelation for the church.

How I live my faith

I have recently been called to serve in the Washington Vancouver Mission to serve for 2 years as a missionary, so I can share the gospel and the happiness it has brought me with others. As I prepare, I teach with the missionaries serving in my ward as well as teaching lessons at church.
