Hi I'm Martha Sorensen

I grew up on a farm in LeRoy, Illinois. I have raised my family with my husband on a farm in Fallon, Nevada. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a farm. At the age of 18 I was taught the Gospel by the missionaries. I have lived on a farm in Nevada for 44 years where my husband and I raised our 6 children. I love to garden, growing vegetables and flowers. I enjoy reading, sewing, baking, canning, being with my children and grandchildren, and my friends. I have researched my family history.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 18 years of old, I was taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ by young Latter-day Saint missionaries. After reading the Book of Mormon, I prayed to know if it was scripture written by ancient a prophets. The Holy Ghost confirmed to me that it is true scripture. Because I know the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he spoke the truth. That was why I was baptized. My testimony of the Gospel has grown very much since then. I have tried every day to live my life better than the day before. I study scriptures and words of our prophets and apostles to learn more and to increase my testimony. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and that he leads the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through his prophet and apostles. I know the Book of Mormon is scripture and that it teaches me about Jesus Christ and how I need to live my life.

How I live my faith

I follow Jesus Christ by studying the scriptures, read teachings of other followers of Christ and try to put those things into practice in my life. I teach 12 year old children at church on Sundays, hoping they can gain their own testimony of our Savior. I try to remember to be kind to others and find ways to serve those in need.
