Hi I'm William Kade Mahler

I'm a young man seeking God. I lived in China for two years, and I love the language. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an American, but I've lived in Shenzhen, China for the past two years. I'm a student at BYU, and will soon be heading to the Scotland/Ireland Mission speaking Mandarin Chinese. I love mountain biking, fencing, programming, and learning. Of all the things in the world, being outside makes me feel great, and also studying the scriptures, listening to music, and enjoying being with others. At BYU some of my favorite classes are my Chinese classes, religious history and scripture classes, such as studying Isaiah in the Old Testament.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but have since then chose for myself to be a member. As I have grown up I studied and learned more in the scriptures I have slowly gained my testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. I have learned that there is lots of truth in many religions, but that this church is one authorized of God to do His work, and is given the priesthood power. Living under the direction of God makes my life better, and I live happier. I know God is there, and that He sent His son to save us, that we can return to our Father in Heaven. There is nothing in my life as prominent as this, because it determines what I do everyday, and I am grateful for the knowledge I've gained and the blessings that come from living how God wants me to live.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church, reading my scriptures, praying, serving others, and going to the Temple. The simple things matter in my life, because they keep me close to God. The more I search and the more I listen the more I know and learn from God. I live my faith in my everyday actions, and although I'm not perfect, when I do I feel the love of my Father in Heaven. At BYU, I am a Gospel Doctrine teacher, and as of December 20th, 2017, I will be a full time missionary serving in the Scotland/Ireland mission speaking Mandarin. I'm excited to teach others what I know, because it has made my life better.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

William Kade Mahler
The Holy Ghost blesses my life in many ways, a few is receiving truth about things of God. The Bible says the following: 1 Corinthians 2:9-12 9 But it is written, Eye hath nor seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for him that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. This scripture has helped me explain how I feel about the spirit. It helps me understand the things of God, it is how God communicates with us. As with things we learn in life, we can only understand them in whole by coming in contact with the things themselves, or as with people, directly answering their questions. God wishes to do the same with us, and thus He gave us the Holy Ghost, or His Spirit, that we might learn of His truth. Through His spirit we learn of God's will for us, and also of the truthfulness of His teachings. He expresses His love for us, and as we live worthily, following the commandments of God, The spirit guides us and blesses us constantly, keeping us close to God, because He wants to bless and guide us, as any father would.
