Hi I'm Tara

I have a huge family that I love, my plan is to experience as many cultures as possible, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey! My name is Tara (you probably know that by now) and I am a sophomore in college, however, I'm taking a small break to head out on an 18 month mission where I'll be teaching people about Christ, and helping in any other way I can. I'm also really in to hiking and rock climbing and pretty much anything else that pushes my comfort zone. I hope to spend my life constantly growing, learning more about myself, and discovering all the amazing diversity around me. The world is such a fantastic place and I plan to explore as much of it as possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church. My parents have done their best from day one to show me why they have chosen to believe in this gospel and how it has blessed their lives. Though it would have been ridiculously easy for me to just go with the flow and jump on the bandwagon I was never like that; I have always asked questions and had a desire to understand the truthfulness of the principles and commandments that I had been taught. I am a Mormon not because my parents taught me to be, but because every time I have asked a question, God has answered. I have been so blessed to live a life full of the knowledge that I am loved by a perfect all knowing being. This fact has added a purpose and substance to my life that transcends anything else I have ever been able to find.

How I live my faith

I volunteer as a Sunday School teacher, instructing a class about marriage and family. It's really cool because we use these classes more as a time for discussion than lecturing. I have been blessed to learn so much from those in my class about their own opinions and views on a topic that is so varied depending on where you are or who you are talking too. Teaching the class is fantastic but I have also experienced a lot of positivity from living my life trying to emulate Christ. Each day is way more rewarding when I have spent it focusing on others rather than myself.
