Hi I'm Maria

I grew up in Provo, Utah. I am a communication major. I have a twin sister. My family is from Peru! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read and write. My family is from Lima, Peru so I grew up living the latin culture. I am currently a student at Utah Valley University, and I'm going to be serving a mission in Paraguay Asuncion North mission and I report December 19th, 2017.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the joy I feel being at church, being at the temple, etc.. is indescribable. I remember times when I wasn't fully "dived into" the church, but slowly as I asked Heavenly Father to help me find out if this is the right church, I received my answer. I may not know everything about the gospel, but I know that the happiness I feel cannot be found anywhere else. I know that Joseph Smith is was a prophet, and I know that in our days Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet. I know he is the mouth piece for our Heavenly Father and guides us where we need to be guided. I know that Jesus Christ bled and died for all of us. I know that He is our Savior and if we heed to the teachings of our church leaders and church officials, we will be able to return to him one day in the Kingdom that He is preparing for us. I know that serving a mission is exactly where I am supposed to be right now, at this very moment. I love the people of Paraguay so much, and I know that I was assigned to that mission by inspiration from my Heavenly Father that he gave to one of our apostles. I know this church is true with everything that I have. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those around me. If it's one thing I've learned from the LDS church it's service. I love doing my visit teaching, helping my fellow neighbors, and especially my friends and family.
