Hi I'm Rusty

I am a member of the United States Military, a proud husband and father of two beautiful girls, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into the church, but fell away during my teen years. Life was tough in my early twenties. I dropped out of college, went through a divorce, and felt my future slipping through my fingers. I pondered why my life was not working out the way I had once dreamed. It was through these trials that a still small voice inside of me that I had not felt in some time was rekindled. As I humbled myself, returned to church and reestablished a relationship with my Father in heaven my fortunes began to turn around. Today, I am extremely blessed. I am a successful officer in the United States Army, have a temple marriage and eternal family, and can not imagine not having the gospel in my life. These blessings are available to anyone who seeks them, and no matter how far you have strayed from the path, how lost you think you might be, the Savior will find you if you call for him.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to come back to church in my darkest hour. It was either change or give up. Luckily for me, plenty of family and friends in the church were there to pick me, put their arms around me, and help me rebuild my life. Nobody judged me. All I felt was love and kindness. I am a Mormon because I want others to feel that love as well.

How I live my faith

Service is a big part of my life. Military life is challenging. My family and I experience constant changes of scenery. However, we love the opportunities to meet new people, to serve in new callings and be examples to those who do not have the gospel in their lives.
