Hi I'm Autumn Barraclough

I lived in Brazil and the Marshall Islands, but grew up in Virginia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After living in the Marshall Islands, I moved to Virginia when I was five years old. I told my mom that I hated "this island," but now I love the blue ridge mountains and rolling hills. When I was in middle school I actually had a business of knitting hats and selling them to others in my community. Virginia has become my home and where I received a decent education. I ran for my high school's cross country and track teams for the first two years. As a junior I received a varsity letter... for Trivia. I worked hard in the Writing Center and was a Chief Tutor my senior year. I enjoyed being able to volunteer. I received the Civic Seal, the Service Chord and the Governor's Seal. After graduation I attended BYU for the summer and was then called to a mission in Paris, France. I will be attending college at BYU-Hawaii. My family are Disney lovers and I actually went diving in the tank at Epcot. I am now a proud aunt and two of my three siblings have been happily married in the temple - my third sibling has yet to be married.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member at the age of eight, because I simply believed that the church is true. I have stayed a member, because this church brings me happiness. I have learned and studied the gospel and this knowledge has brought me closer to Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

When I was little I wanted to share the gospel with others. It's rare to meet someone and not bring up the gospel. When I was ten I decided I wanted to serve a mission and continue to preach the gospel. I am now called to serve. This means I am teaching the gospel for eighteen months. I will not be coming home and I will only be able to email my family and friends once a week. I can make a phone call home on Christmas and Mother's Day. I live my faith by spreading the joy of the gospel. I share because I know it will bring joy for others.
