Hi I'm Daphne

I love laughing, smiling, and talking to people. I play the harp. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at BYU studying early child education, and my dream is to teach second grade. I am the second oldest of eight children, and I just love them. Their sweet personalities and Christ-like love makes me want to be a better big sister. I love hiking, playing, and spending time with my friends and family. This might sounds silly but a way I show love to them is by baking them yummy treats. I also love music. I play the harp and piano, and find great peace as I do so. I am getting ready to serve an LDS mission in Malaga Spain, and could not be more excited.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings me more happiness then I can even describe. I was born into the church and feel very lucky. As I got older I started to wonder if what The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints taught was true. I decided to read the Book of Mormon and pray to find out for myself. I started praying more to my Heavenly Father and I felt very peaceful about reading the Book of Mormon, and knew that it was good, and that it taught truth. As time has gone on I have developed a stronger testimony of the book, and know that it is the word of God, and that it was translated by Joseph Smith. I know that God answers prayers. I know that He has called a modern day prophet to lead and guide our church, and He is President Monson. I know that families can be together forever through the great Plan of Salvation. I know I have a Savior, Jesus Christ, who suffered for my sins and made it possible for me to return and live with Him again. I know that He loves and wants me to make righteous choices, and to ultimately have joy. I know that this gospel is what allows me to feel so much joy in my life, and for that I am eternally grateful.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the simple things. I read my scriptures, attend church, go to the temple, serve others, and try to do my best in whatever calling I have. This summer I was called to teach Sunday School to young single adults. At first it really intimated me, and I felt inadequate. However, I prayed really hard for help to be able to teach and convey the messages God wanted. I felt his strength as I worked hard and relied on Him. He helped me fulfill my calling to teach. I live my faith by relying on my Heavenly Father to strengthen me. I also live my faith by how I treat other people. We are all God's children so we should treat each other with love and respect. I try to do that by looking for the good in others and telling them, because is everyone is special and unique in their own way.
