Hi I'm Hayden Calvert

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a hiker and a musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was first introduced to the church when in my childhood and I was 10 years old when I was baptized with my family. I played the clarinet in my high school band for four years. I can also play the piano and have done that since I was 9 years old. I am currently at attending college for the fall semester at Brigham young University-Idaho. I love to go hiking and to be in the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this gospel has brought so much peace and happiness to my life. My family and I got baptized all on the same day and it has helped us so much. In life though, things just happen and you can't blame it on anyone or anything. When I was 14, my parents got a divorce and my dad stopped going to church. Later when my sister went to college she became inactive and stopped going to church too. I love them both so much but they got there own agency. I have seen them having hard times in there lives and I know if they would of still exercise there faith in our Father in heaven and in Christ, then they would of dealt with it so much better. I have chosen to stay in the gospel because it guides me in those hard times and I know that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me. I got my mission call to Brazil and I can't wait to share this wonderful gospel with them and teach them the love that our Savior Jesus Christ has for them and for all of us.

How I live my faith

Ever since I got baptized into the church at the age of 10, I have never lost sight of my duties as a church member. My family and I would go do our church cleaning assignments when it was our turn and would show up early so we could help set up chairs for church. I have been in the deacon, teacher, and priest quorum presidency and help organized camp outs and activities for our group. I have done my home teaching and visited my families. I have also brought the sacrament to the elderly who could not make it to church.
