Hi I'm Bridgette

I grew up in an Protestant family, later became a Southern Baptist, and I was agnostic for some time upon leaving. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a purple-pinkish haired Mormon and had dyed my hair before joining the church back in August. I love to read old books such as stuff from Charles Dickens, Robert Louis Stevenson, and Oscar Wilde. I enjoy writing a lot, such as science fiction and post-war. I'm in the PathwayConnect program and it has been a blessing to be apart of it.

Why I am a Mormon

My life changed when the local missionaries gave me a Book of Mormon back in this past June and I discovered the church in particular ways. I heard about it from the media and the broadway musical, The Book of Mormon, and when I checked the musical out on YouTube, I didn't expect to feel a prompting from the Spirit nudging me to learn more about the church. I went on Mormon.org and I began talking with the online missionaries when I asked them questions regarding my curiosity. I asked them for a Book of Mormon, and soon enough, I was visited two elders from my ward to give it to me. I began taking lessons from them and it was hard to understand everything at first, especially at my first time at a Sacrament meeting, and I was baptized a couple of months later. Sure, some people have ostracized me for my faith, and being the only convert in an evangelical family is hard at times. This gospel is worth all of it.

How I live my faith

As a new person in my ward, I try my best to participate in it each week. Aside from attending the Sacrament Meeting, I attend my ward's Book of Mormon class each week, and I recently became a ward missionary. I'm planning on being a visiting teacher, and spreading gospel to others in my life is important to me. I hope one day to be a full-time missionary.
