Hi I'm Matthew

I grew up in Rochester, New York. I'm going on a mission to Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Western New York with a loving family. I have 5 younger siblings who are a blessing in my life everyday. I grew up loving music and playing soccer and are two passions I still participate in to this day. I love to travel, see new places, try different cuisines, and investigate new cultures. I'm proudly White-Hispanic and love to invest time in understanding the culture of my forefathers. I will serve a mission in Salt Lake City, Utah and couldn't be more excited to serve the Lord. After my mission I have been accepted and will attend BYU, and I hope to major in Music Education. Fun Fact: I can also walk on a tightrope.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace it gives me. The comfort knowing that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me, and knows me, and the My Heavenly Father loves me. While being a Mormon isn't always easy, due to mockery or ridicule, it is always worth it because I see the blessings that come from keeping the commandments of God. I'm grateful for the priesthood and how it has blessed my life. It has allowed my family to be sealed forever, so that when we die our family will not be split up, but that we can stay together and love and cherish each other forever. I continue to live the gospel because it offers hope and a promise of blessings. Being able to serve the Lord who gave me everything I have is the least I can do to repay My God, and I look forward to the trials I will face and the blessings that will come from them.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being obedient to the commandments of God and trying to be an example to others of what Jesus Christ wants me to be. I try and teach my younger siblings the importance of Jesus Christ in our lives and how our Heavenly Father loves us, and wants us to return to Him. As I have been able to serve in the church, I have been able to serve my fellow brethren and I have been able to see how I have blessed them and how they have blessed me. I think right now as I am preparing to go on a mission, I have had to explain what I am doing to many and be an example to the youth younger than me of the right choices they should be making. Ultimately, I cannot wait to serve the Lord in all that I do everyday on my mission because there is no greater call to serve.
