Hi I'm Porter

I grew up in Utah. I love to read. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the kind of person who is always interested in learning more. I've learned a little bit of Mandarin Chinese in school, and I even visited the island of Taiwan to learn more about Chinese culture. I've always loved math and science, so I'm hoping to become an engineer (if I can ever decide which kind). I played on small soccer teams throughout Junior High and High School, and I loved it (even if I wasn't particularly good). My free time is largely spent reading pretty much anything or playing video games with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. Throughout my lifetime of Church membership and service, I have learned a lot of things. Most importantly, I have learned that I have a loving Heavenly Father and that He wants the best for each of His children. I know this doesn't mean I won't face trials in my life, but I do know that those hard experiences will make me into a better person. I truly do believe that this gospel is true, and I have done everything I can to know the truth of the teachings I have learned. I know that living my faith has made me happy throughout my life.

How I live my faith

Pretty soon, I'm going to be going to Australia to teach the people there about the gospel (in Chinese, I might add). In preparation for that happening, I have been released from most of my other callings. I am, however, still doing home teaching, which is essentially where I go around and assist in the physical and spiritual needs of people in the area. This can range from helping with housework to fixing a pipe to just sharing an uplifting message.
