Hi I'm Jack Mosier

I am from Upstate New York. I enjoy tennis and other recreation. My passion is for politics and service. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, my mother joined the church right before I was born, but my father is not a member. I have two younger siblings, a sister and a brother. I grew up in a rural town in Upstate New York, approximately 100 miles south of Palmyra, New York. When I was middle school, I was the only member in the entire building, and where I went to school, the middle and high school were in one building. Now, I am preparing to serve a mission, after which I will attend Brigham Young University with intent to study Political Science or Linguistics.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 8 years old, I made the decision to get baptized. This was among the best choices I have and will make in my life. The blessings the gospel have brought to my life, my family's life, and what I see in the lives of others stand as a witness to me that the gospel of Jesus Christ, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are true. From reading and praying about the Book of Mormon, I have gained a testimony of its truthfulness and the divinity of its contents. Subsequently, I have grown to have a greater appreciation of the Prophet Joseph Smith and his diligence, humility, and capacity to love and serve. My testimony comes by my faith, and my faith comes by my actions, or choices. I am grateful to have a mother who accepted this gospel before I was born so I could be exposed to its truths at a young age. This, and an innumerable other examples of testimony building experiences reaffirm to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true, and that it is great that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

To me, the best way I live the gospel of Jesus Christ is my transparency with such. Often times I find opportunities to share my beliefs with friends or acquaintances, or in other cases they find it comfortable to approach me with inquiries. At varying points in my life, I have had the privilege to serve as a youth in a leadership position among my peers. In each case, I tried to express my love for them, and together we uplifted each other. In my personal life, I try to dedicate time each day to study the scriptures and the words of the apostles and prophets. This is something I perpetually am trying to improve upon. In addition, I reach out to my loving Heavenly Father in prayer, both in gratitude and in my pleas. Overall, I try to emulate Jesus Christ and his teachings in all my thoughts, words, and deeds.
