Hi I'm Millay Dell Davidson

I am an artist, a singer, and I love to serve. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in a family that moved around a lot. We've lived in Arizona, different parts of Northern and Southern California, Utah, and we also lived in Barcelona, Spain for a year as well. I am now an art student at Brigham Young University. My passions are painting, crafting, sewing, singing, learning, and living a healthy and joyful life.

Why I am a Mormon

When my family lived in Spain, I learned about the power of faith in Jesus Christ. Although it was very exciting to be in another country, it was also very lonely and stressful. Trying to learn the language, completing schoolwork on my own, and trying to connect with people was a big struggle for me. But, I began to recognize the struggles of other members as a way of connecting with them. I knew a young man who would wake up at 5 AM to take a bus and three different trains to get to early morning seminary on time. Everyday he did this and it amazed me that someone would dedicate so much time and effort into something that was so meaningful for them. There was also another older sister that my mother, sister, and I grew to love. She lived in an apartment on the third floor of a very old complex and had a degenerative bone disease so she had to use walking canes just to move around her home. There was no elevator in her building so getting down the stairs was a big struggle for her. Still, she would walk to the metro and come to church as often as she could. Seeing that light and faith in a woman who had every reason not to come to services, gave me the faith to soldier on and make the most of my circumstances. Since then I've continued to learn how to show that amount of faith in my own life. Throughout high school I battled anxiety and depression and many times I believed that it was because I wasn't good enough. But I have learned that faith in the Lord Jesus Christ gives us peace and clarity of mind and heart. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us. And because of that love, He sent His son, Jesus Christ to suffer and die for our sins and sorrows, then to rise again and overcome them so that through Him, we can overcome ours. Everyone is on a different journey in this life but no matter where we are on that path, He invites us to partake of His peace and love. He welcomes all us into His fold ready to “encircled about eternally in the arms of his love”

How I live my faith

During my first year at college I was the Family Home Evening Co-coordinator. I would organize members into groups and help assign a brother and sister to lead in a gospel lesson and activity every Monday. Every few months or so, we would have a ward-wide FHE activity that my Co-coordinator and I would organize. Now that I'm 19, I have decided to serve as a missionary for 18 months. I was called by the Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, to serve in the Eugene, Oregon Mission. So, for the next year and a half I'll have the blessing and privilege of teaching people about the love of Jesus Christ.
