Hi I'm Joel Simpson

I grew up in Canada. I like to play basketball and act in various theatre performances. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the sixth of six children in my family. Growing up I loved to play basketball, act in live theatre and sing. At my High School I was awarded five drama awards for my performances in various shows, my favourite being Wilbur Turnblad in Hairspray. I also participated in the scouting programs in Canada, where I received my Chief Scout and Queen's Venturer awards. In High School I was also Assistant Executive Director of the Leadership Initiative where we would plan and carry out various events around the school. I am now graduated and will be serving a mission in the California Bakersfield Mission from 2017-2019.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always felt the love surrounding the church and it's teachings for as long as i can remember. The teachings in the Book of Mormon and of the modern day prophets have just made sense and helped me better take on the world. I love the gospel so much and know that it is the truth. I know that Jesus died for our sins and through his atonement we can be made clean of them. I know Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God and that he restored the true church on earth. I have seen how much the gospel has blessed my life and the life of so many others and hope that it can bless many more.

How I live my faith

Growing up in the church I've always wanted to do what is right. I've found that maintaining a close relationship with God through attending church, scripture study and prayer helps me do that. In doing these things I am able to have a clear mind to always remember to do what is right.
