Hi I'm Cassidy

I'm a native Utahn. I'm a convert. I'm a writer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always been a dreamer. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a variety things, including: dancer, singer, actress, director, artist, princess, veterinarian, animal rescuer, and more! Later on, I realized I could be all these things if I was a writer. I love the power words have and I can't go a day without dreaming up characters and plot points. I also love animals, having become a vegetarian at 14 years-old, only about two months after being baptized into the church! I enjoy running, hiking, and singing at the top of my lungs when no one is home.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. Growing up in Utah, I always had the subtle influence of the church, even though I grew up in a non-religious household. Whenever I went to church with extended family members and friends, I always felt like I was where I needed to be. In middle school, I was so desperate to get closer to my God and find the right religion to join. I started attending the LDS ward by my home and was later introduced to the missionaries who taught me and prepared me for baptism. Like so many big decisions I've had to make in life, it was through an answered prayer that led me to joining the church. When I pray, I know Heavenly Father is listening to me. When I read the scriptures, I can hear Him talking to me about my personal problems and concerns. In church, I feel the Spirit so strongly. I know what God has revealed to me is true and it makes me happy. Living the way He wants me to has brought blessings that far outnumber the sacrifices I've been asked to make.

How I live my faith

I absolutely love the gospel and have found great joy in praying, reading the scriptures, and attending church. I recently received a calling as a visiting teacher, meaning I got to pair up with an awesome lady in my ward to lend extra love and support to a couple of our sisters as we discuss the message for each month. Very soon, I'll get to embark on a full-time mission to Texas to share the truth that has brought me so much happiness in my life.
