Hi I'm Jessica Barrus

I grew up in Utah. I just graduated high school this year. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy being outdoors, where I can appreciate all that my Heavenly Father has given me. I love hiking, camping, riding horses, and skiing. When I can't be outside I love swimming; in fact, I swam on my high school swim team for three years. I also love music! I play the flute and the acoustic guitar. I am also attending college, working at a library, and preparing to serve an LDS mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints gives me peace and hope. I know that I have a Father in heaven that hears me and answers my prayers; I know He listens to me because I am his daughter and He loves me. I know I also have an elder brother--Jesus Christ--who knows everything I am going through because He went through it too. These things I know give me peace and hope when I am going through good times and bad times. These things also give me peace and hope for my future.

How I live my faith

I am currently planning on serving an LDS mission and am preparing. Preparing has helped me gain new focus and determination to not just read my scriptures, but study them. I try to apply a study technique of praying about what I want answers to, I study the scriptures (look up in topical guide, bible dictionary, etc.), and have found answers and inspiration when I do this. In addition I attend institute, ward activities (I give people rides), and text people to let them know my testimony and that I love them.
