Hi I'm Julianne McNamara

I am studying to become an elementary teacher. I am serving a mission in Scotland and Ireland. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a very musically-oriented family, and growing up I have fallen in love with all things music. I have developed a passion for dance. I danced my way through high school. I am now studying, to become a teacher, at my dream university! Although I am a student at Brigham Young University, I am a huge OSU fan! Go Bucks! I have never been outside the United States, but come January I will be serving the Lord in Europe!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the faith, however there were poor circumstances in my family. There was a divide in my family unit, where I saw half of my family walk away from the faith. My mother, however, was a constant source of light and truth through those trying times. She exhibited beautiful Christ-like qualities of selflessness, faith, charity and unconditional love. I saw the light in her eyes. I wanted to be just like her. She is the reason I have discovered the Love of God. I felt it through her, and I began to pray and act in faith. I felt moments of darkness, fear but those feelings were always overcome and taken away as I drew strength from the Lord. I know that consistent prayer and faith works! Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has made my life a happier and more fulfilling.

How I live my faith

Because of my draw towards music, I have always been called to musical positions in the church. I am often called to be the ward's choir director. I honestly love it, because I feel that one of the quickest ways to feel the love of God is through music. Singing songs of praise and adoration just create a peaceful and comforting inside me and those participating in the number; whether they are singing or listening. Because of the beautiful environment it creates, I love serving my community in this way. I also love to find ways to help those that are in great need of food, shelter, a friend. I love that I had the opportunity to join others in creating relief for those struggling, in any way we could. When I was younger, my leaders created ways to help. Those experiences that I had early on, impacted me greatly to where service has become a high priority in my life.
